By the time all of these electric vehicles are available to the majority of consumers the planet will be destroyed according to all the predictions these global warming people have tried to force feed us into believing . I guess we will see , the planet is still going strong even after all of Al Gores dire warnings .

... I guess you forgot about all of the violent storms and mega droughts that have impacted the USA and Caribbean over the past decade.

The Silverado EV RST First Edition will follow in the fall of 2023 and feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with 664 hp (495 kW / 673 PS) and 780+ lb-ft (1,056+ Nm) of torque. The $105,000 pickup will also have 400 miles (644 km) of range and a Wide Open Watts mode, which enables it to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than 4.5 seconds.

Other highlights include an adaptive air suspension that can raise or lower the truck up to 2 inches (50 mm). Buyers will also find a Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system, which allows for hands-free operation on more than 200,000 miles (321,869 km) of compatible roads in the United States and Canada.

Thats the major problem . When the government wants to push a agenda or get involved with a solution problems are created . Sure incentives are great but when its given majority of time greed sets in . Government is not the best business partners

... I am sure you are correct but President Biden has decided that he wants the USA to be a global leader in electric battery technology and manufacturing. Battery design and production is now considered a critical defense technology.

No Not really IE space program, the internet, are just a few examples of Government funding.

                            Government is a Partner

That is 2 great examples . First the space program that was first started with a blank check from the government telling them to get it done go to the moon . Government stepped out of the way meaning no regulations, no red tape , lawyers , environmentalists and basically getting out of the way . Do you think it would happen today with government to get something like that done in a reasonable time ? Look how quick private sector has taken up the space exploration and is succeeding . Next the internet . No , Al Gore did not invent the internet but public sector brought it to the masses for everyone in a inexpensive way and reliable . But what has happened through the years . Yes , government gets involved with it and we are seeing what happens when they try to make things better . Green energy and green jobs what possibly could happen when government gets involved ? i guess are kids and grand kids will find out .

Even Elon Musk says there is not enough lithium supplies for the electric growth that they are planning for.
