Unethical to eat meat my ass.
Are we producing meat in a harmful unsustainable manner. Yes. The price of meat will sky rocket attempting to fix the issue if not done with grate care.
I am lucky to live in South-Africa in this regard. The cattle here have worlds of space and are mainly grazing on organic grass all day. The antibiotic are also kept to a bear minimum.
American beef production is sick in comparison with the animals suffering heavily from acidosis to the point where stomach acid east holes right thru them.

So now we must be dependent on a lab style production plant for out survival. Just where they want us.
There is a storm coming my friends there is a storm coming. Its a brave new world and I have to adapt to living on the fringes of it.

That is why it is important to find individuals who are growing their own food and unite with them. I stopped eating the Americanized large farm meat a long time ago. If you recall the "mad cow" disease issue years ago, also known as Bovine Spongiform, it plagued the US I think around 1998. I started to research it and started to discover some mind blowing repulsive things such as growth hormones and steroids for meat and milk production. Cows are supposed to eat grass, not corn and other dead cows...yes other dead cows. The FDA used to allow the entire dead cow be ground up and added to the food for the other cows to eat, well they discovered that adding the brains of the dead cows was the cause of the "mad cow" disease. So, the FDA passed a law that they can still grind up dead cows as feed, but can not add the brains of the dead cows. Some sick stuff that goes on behind the scenes.

Hey thanks. I know them as blackjack. Chow them all the time. Also known as soldier's veg. The Vietcong lived on this when isolated. Its a great diuretic and has a profound effect on your lungs felt minutes after eating a bunch of the leaves. Got a some seedlings today. Celery, cos lettuce, broccoli, cherry tomatoes and baby spinach. Been getting salad greens 3 times a week off of a very small area, supersized me what can be done at home. picking up do's and don't as I go with these unknown plants.

Aphids popping up now and those night worms made short work of my watercress. Buggers only come out at night, no idea where the go during the day. Made a mix of soap, oil and bicarb. Diatomaceous earth is next.

The salad greens sound yummy. As far as your bugs you have or are going to do what I recommend doing. I use diatomatious earth as well. 1) powder form for the soil 2) liquid form in a spray bottle with water, but avoid spraying it on the flowers, because i have heard that it could potentially harm bees or pollinators.
They have concluded that Aphids have a direct link with ants, the ants use them as a host so you may have to look for ants near your garden. aphids and ants - Google Search

I checked for ants but there are none. Found them at the base of the parsley plant. Will go and have a good look at them again. The soap mix rinsed them off as far as I know, thanks for that. I have spiders and mantises around that should help some. Tiny little green ninja rope worms... The spin silk to rappel down from the leaves it they know you are on to them. Only the watercress noting else so far.

If you find these eat them. Centella aisatica or Indian pennywort. They work well in salads and soups and has a whole host of benefits.
Not sure if the grow in north-America.

Yes, it grows in North America, I believe that is aka "Dollar weed", it is plentiful here. I knew it was edible but I did not know all the benefits it has to offer. Thanks for the information, Allen. I am going to incorporate it more in my diet.
