How did I not know this?

There are a lot of different manufacturers of receptacles, and many different configurations.

I personally have never noticed those features ... but I suspect they are not documented very well.

Thanks! I'll have to watch out for that. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

My Dad was an electrician, and I worked with him on a ton of jobs when I was a pup.

I don't recall him ever showing me that.

Although, in all fairness, that was many many moons ago. Maybe those cool features weren't there back then? (Electricity was still kinda new at the time. )

        Thanks for sharing!

I feel better now that I know I'm not the only one that had no idea.

But I would not feel so all alone.

Took 2 years of electronics and this was never taught. If I could now ask them why they might tell me that they taught the theory and not the application.

I did however learn Boolean algebra which I haven't used one time in my life.

Just remember, there 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who Boolean algebra and those who don't.

I took Boolean algebra, also. I knew back then that I'd never use it. In fact, there's a lot of shit that I was taught that I'll never use. I guess that we can never know too much. Right?

It's the things that you use daily that stick in your head. For those of you that do a lot of measuring, like woodworking, manipulating fractions is a breeze. It's just about daily practice. =^..^=

I have always struggled with tape measurements if it isn't 1/4, 1/2, 3/4. If I did it weekly or daily I'm sure it would come easier. SAE sockets vs metric? No thought process happens when I have to get the next size up from a 13mm.

So I go on a work trip oversees several years ago and the only tapes they had were metric. Calling out measurements for the people cutting was a breeze. Being the guy cutting was also simple. I rode along on run to Japans version of Lowes and bought 3 measuring tapes to take home.

At one time I could just look at a nut or bolt and tell what what size it was, SAE or metric.

Experienced mechanics can even do that be feel.

These days, I'd be more inclined to say "Yep, that's a bolt all right".
