Republicans want to Cut Social Security

Republicans Have ANOTHER Plan to Gut Social Security
    OCTOBER 11, 2022

Republicans just can’t help themselves — after congressional Republicans repeatedly embraced plans that would put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block, new reporting shows they’ve come up with yet ANOTHER plan that would jeopardize these critical programs.

That’s right: Republicans have managed to hatch yet another wildly unpopular plan to gut Social Security and Medicare — and are making it one of their“top priorities” if they take control of Congress.

Bloomberg Government: “Social Security and Medicare eligibility changes, spending caps, and safety-net work requirements are among the top priorities for key House Republicans who want to use next year’s debt-limit deadline to extract concessions from Democrats.”

But it gets worse: Republican leaders are so hellbent on gutting Social Security and Medicare that they said they would be willing to threaten a credit default if they don’t get their way.

Bloomberg Government: “The four Republicans interested in serving as House Budget Committee chairman in the next Congress said in interviews that next year’s deadline to raise or suspend the debt ceiling is a point of leverage if their party can win control of the House in the November midterm elections.”

Gutting Americans’ hard-earned Social Security benefits is the GOP party line. Florida GOP Senator Rick Scott — the man in charge of electing Republicans to the Senate — has already doubled and tripled down on his plan to put Medicare and Social Security on the chopping block.

Washington Post Opinion: “Scott’s plan would also sunset — eliminate — all federal legislation over five years, under the (risky) assumption that worthy laws would be reenacted. That could mean an end to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, everything else mentioned above — and potentially more.”

And all of these extreme proposals fall in line with the Republican Study Committee’s “Blueprint to Save America” — which also called for gutting Americans EARNED Social Security benefits.

NBC News: “The Republican Study Committee, a large group of House conservatives, proposed a budget in June that would incrementally raise the retirement age to collect Social Security… and lower benefits over the long term.”

Between the Republican Study Committee’s budget, Rick Scott’s proposal and now this plan — one thing is clear: If Republicans take control, they are coming after Americans’ hard-earned Social Security benefits.

And one thing Republicans will do with this power, in all probability, will be to try to provoke a crisis in order to extort Democrats into accepting spending cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security

Bloomberg’s Jack Fitzpatrick interviewed several Republican contenders to lead the House Budget Committee. They all said, with varying levels of specificity, that they plan to instigate a debt-ceiling standoff to force Biden to accept cuts to retirement and health-care programs. “Our main focus has got to be on nondiscretionary — it’s got to be on entitlements,” said Representative Buddy Carter. Representative Jodey Arrington said he wants “eligibility reforms,” which means raising the eligibility age and imposing a means test for Social Security and Medicare benefits. “We should ensure that we keep the promises that were made to the people who really need it, the people who are relying on it,” said Representative Lloyd Smucker. “So some sort of means-testing potentially would help to ensure that we can do that.”

And republicans will yet again vote against their own best interests.
This is the main reason republican politicians are always attacking the education system. They want their voters to be uneducated.

Yep this is the Guy Rick Scott

Don't worry about your Social Security with this guy

Scott was pressured to resign as chief executive of Columbia/HCA in 1997. During his tenure as chief executive, the company defrauded Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal programs. The Department of Justice won 14 felony convictions against the company, which was fined $1.7 billion in what was at the time the largest healthcare fraud settlement in U.S. history.

This lie is spread every single election cycle. Straight out of the Democrat playbook. Think about it. Why have the cuts never materialized? Political suicide if it was actually attempted. Low information voters accepting and spreading lies.

Do you know why liberals may be the most gullible voters on the planet?

Democrat politicians claim to fight for the poor and the little man. That's noble, right? But the facts tell a different story. And when I say facts, I'm not referring to the news media and their so-called "fact checkers. No, I'm talking about the real world. The world in which homelessness is the worst it's ever been in democrat controlled cities. Does it look like democrats are helping the poor? Then why are they living on the street in record numbers. Those pesky facts again.

And what about the middle class? Well, they're struggling to put food on the table and fill up the tank. They're barely making it.

Democrat talk a good game. But it's always someone elses fault that they didn't deliver.

Are you denying that Rick Scott's plan includes sunsetting government programs every five years?
