Your sales tax scheme is just a transparent way of allowing billionaires to not pay taxes. At least with the current system they have to work at not paying taxes.

Where did I ever say anything about healthcare? A progressive income tax is wrong on so many levels that your socialist brain will never comprehend it. Any tax system that punishes success and rewards failure (through wealth transfer from the wealthy to the poor) is inherently unfair to both. Unfair to the wealthy because they are forced to pay for things they don't get and unfair to the poor because it trains them that the government is their sugar daddy and will take care of them.

Not to mention that a progressive income tax tends to keep the poor poor. If you get a raise you end up in a higher tax bracket, even if the raise is due to inflation.

If they understood economics they wouldn't be socialists. They only know "tax the rich", not realizing that this cause the wealthy to shelter their money rather than investing it, slowing the economy and causing more unemployment. Income tax revenue is generally a flat percentage of GDP, at least in the US, meaning a higher GDP means more revenue. Higher taxes for the wealthy means a lower GDP. Both Kennedy and Reagan reduces the top tax rates and increased the revenue, though under Reagan all the increase and then some was consumed by increased spending, he had to sign off on that to get the defense spending that effectively ended the cold war.

If they had ever been part of the lower end of the middle class like I have been for most of my life they would understand that every time the Democrat party has raised taxes "on the rich" the buying power of everyone else decreases.

I don't know the politics of the people doing those studies, but my personal experience is the exact opposite. And, yes, the politics of the person doing the study is VERY important, it leads to a bias in their research and end results.
