    [Annoying] Waste Toner Bottles

I occasionally have to empty waste toner bottles and have yet to find a way to pour waste toner into a trash bag without it looking like a nuclear weapon went off in my workspace. The mushroom cloud and fallout are terrible. I have tried using the stretch and dust wipes over part of the trash can to minimize the dust rolling out of the can. No joy. I have tried doing this outdoors, hoping a light breeze would carry the dust away from me. But like a bonfire, the smoke will sometimes come back at you. Vacuum filters are too expensive try and vacuum out the waste.
I now ask if any of you have to do the same with WTB and what method do you use when emptying the bottles?

Try this, put the end of the waste toner bottle where the toner is poured out from in a trash bag, seal the bag to the bottle with tape and then dump the waste toner into the bag. I've been doing that for years.

      Re: Waste Toner Bottles

For many years I carried a laundry detergent bottle in the car. If you dump the bottle slowly and carefully onto overlapped paper the toner cloud is not too awful. Then I would dump the paper (1) sheet at a time into the detergent bottle. Only once or twice did I make a major dust cloud in a customers office.

I do recommend that you keep the lid tight and the detergent bottle vertical at all times. I sure wished it had been. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

My trick is similar to Slimslob, I just hold the bag tightly with the WTB as far down as I can and still leave room for the toner.
