Democrats have lied to us once again. EV's were said to be "jobs, jobs jobs". In reality it means less jobs for Americans. Even some democrats are starting to tell the truth.

Automobile manufacturers have been automating for years and that will continue to happen even if electric cars were dropped right now.

If you say so. You need to tell that to the autoworkers and the democrats who are admitting that EV's will decrease the number of jobs due to using less parts. Automation is much different than using less parts.

I'm pretty sure they are aware. This isn't some huge revelation you have come across.

Apparently it's news to you and the other libs on this site. Why? ZERO. That's the number of times that y'all have mentioned it.

The automation of the auto industry is not new. Why on earth would it need to be brought up? Do you actually get all your information from copytechnet? Yikes!! Maybe it's time to broaden your information sources.

Clearly you don't know the definition of automate. Do you understand that we're talking about jobs being cut because EV's use less parts? There's nothing to automate when you use less parts.

And..... automation also cuts jobs. I think it's you that doesn't understand. And actually you can automate more if there are less parts to assemble. Now you know.

No one said automation doesn't cut jobs, sport. Once again, you crowbar something in that is off topic to the point. it's baked in, son - EV's use less parts fromt the jump. It's not automation that is responsible. Just stop.

Hahahaha. You got it. Those that choose not to understand are difficult to debate because all they want to do is argue. That's you by the way.

For those of you who aren't into blatant lies, you may find this interesting.

Electric Vehicle Drivetrains Only Have 20 Moving Parts Compared to Over 200 in Conventional Automobiles

This means lower maintenance costs and a radical shift in auto industry job skills

Over the past year, virtually all the world’s established auto makers have announced or accelerated their plans for introducing new electric vehicles (EVs). The range includes everything from high-end luxury models to relatively low-cost entry-level offerings. Also, many well-funded EV startups are building new market entries from the ground up.
While most of the media attention focuses on the big picture issues of how green-energy EVs are destined to help mitigate climate change by eliminating use of fossil fuels and will ultimately lower the costs of driving for consumers, there is another significant impact that deserves more attention too. That is the relative simplicity of EV powertrains and implications for lower maintenance costs.

Many EVs don’t even need a transmission. Those that do use a much simpler, single-speed system as opposed to the multi-speed gearboxes in gas-burning vehicles. For example, Tesla’s electric motors only have two moving parts and use single-speed “transmissions” with no gears. The company says its drivetrain has about 20 moving parts compared with 200 in conventional drivetrains. Similarly, the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt has 80% fewer moving parts than a comparable car with a gasoline engine.EVs also don’t need radiators, fuel injectors, gas tanks, valvetrains or exhaust systems. You won’t need to go get an oil change, and due to the use of regenerative braking, you won’t need to get your brakes changed as often either.
