This discourse underscores the importance of thoughtful deliberation on educational policy. On one hand, letting states control everything might lead to more flexibility and local solutions. But on the flip side, it could cause big gap in quality between rich and poor areas. That’s where federal standards help level things out. I remember working on a leadership essay https://www.ozessay.com.au/blog/leadership-essay/ that touched on this — about how true leadership means making decisions that protect everyone, especially the vulnerable. In this case, cutting the Department of Education might seem efficient, but is it the responsible choice? What about special education programs, or help for schools that struggle already? Without oversight, some kids might be left behind.

It’s a tricky issue. Cutting the Department sounds bold, but would states really be ready to handle everything on their own? Some probably could, but others might not. Plus, having one national body helps with funding and making sure there’s a base level of fairness. Like, imagine trying to move from one state to another and finding out your child’s school is years behind.

Yes it should. Education should be a matter for state and local governments......not the federal government. A lot of local school districts should be consolidated as well.
PS: If you have the means to keep your kids out of the public school system, by all means you should.

What the Department of Education does is waste what should be money for education by spending on their own inflated salaries. Very little of Federal education funds end up in the hands of local school districts where it is actually needed. That is what President Trump wants to eliminate, the federal bureaucracy.

                    So much Winning

A federal judge ruled Thursday that mass layoffs at the U.S. Education Department are causing "irreparable harm" to students and educators. The judge ordered the Trump administration to reinstate the thousands of employees they laid off in March.
The judge also temporarily blocked the administration from moving forward with plans to shut down the department.

BTW ONLY Congress can shutdown a Department NOT the King
