    Inkjet Wideformat Printers

I know this site is normally only about toner but I was curious if you guys had any recommendations for high end commercial inkjet printers. Wide format is needed. For reference I'm looking to replace an old Epson stylus pro 7900. I've heard Cannon and Epson are the most popular choices out there right now. Reparability and printhead reliability are important factors for me.

Nah, we deal with Inkjet all the time. It's a niche, but not uncommon.

Listen to me, I have worked with multiple Canon ImagePROGRAF somethings, some Teriostar Wide format printers (Holy hell those fusers are crazy) and Ricoh wide formats. Of all of them, in my opinion HP is king.

Minus the "Z" family, the T family of HP DJ's are awesome.

Those T730/830's are solid as f***. They come with built in scanners, simple interface, printhead replacement (Just did one this monday) took less than 30 minutes, and thats will all the calibrations, alignments, and general clean of encoder strip, oil in carriage, dusting, scanner clean. etc.

*NOTE* Thinking about it, I have in fact had problems with HP DJ T730/830's, but every single one of them, was due leaking printheads and almost always, there were non-oem inks**

Then Epson might be your only way to go. Epson SureColor P9570 was introduced a couple of years ago but might still be available. It has 12 available inks, but not white or silver. Their latest models only have 6 colors.

nah canon also has inkjets with 10-12 inks but yeah it seems to be only those two companies with that amount. I've heard that cannon has a better designed printhead but idk
