I agree with the mandatory drug testing if you are getting ANY kind of gov't assistance. If you are on drugs you don't get it PERIOD. /rant
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

      No such test here.
Never heard of it or seen it done. I'm completely surprised that this even happens to the extent that you guys are talking about up north. I'm really shocked.

The closest we have is the police doing random breath tests & drug swab tests for drivers, but nothing at work.

IMHO, you're mad to be doing drugs in the first place. Coffee and a deep understanding love between me and the copier is my addiction......

It is kind of ironic. It seems you have to piss to get almost any job here, and yet as I drive down the road I listen to adds on the radio for bongs from the head shop. Have at least 6 paraphernalia shops in this small city , some have been here for 40 years. My wife just got a new job, she had to pass a piss test to get it. That was last week. Now she has to go and give a hair sample to be analyzed, because that can go back 6 months. What kind of ultra sensitive job does she have that requires such extensive testing be done. Airline pilot? Oil Tanker Captain? Brain Surgeon? Computer programmer? nope... she puts the chips and candy in vending machines!

I've got a simple philosophy of life that goes like this: You're free to do whatever pleases you as long as no other people are adversely affected without their (adult) consent. So, in this case, you like cigars, pot, heroin, crack, whatever? Fine, it's your life - your problem. Does it affect your productivity? If not, then feel free to keep doing it in your spare time. It does? Then it's affecting other people - either drop it or go away.

I still play Doom2, Doom1, and Duke Nukem from time to time.

I use DosBox 0.73 to play the DOS version under Windows XP. Works great!

I have Doom3 on my PC, a Windows based version. I bought one of the 10 copies that were actually sold.

Pardon me, but you're missing big time - try with ZDoom (for Doom-engine games, like Doom, Doom2, Heretic, Hexen, etc) and jfDuke3D for Duke Nukem 3D. You get the old games with new features, like 3D acceleration, High-resolutions and Keyboard+Mouse controls. I bet you'll be finishing all of them once again - I did!

                      Sorry for the offtopic!

I think it's funny how a naturally occurring plant is one of the most damned substances on earth. It shows how out of touch people really are. It is a fact that alcohol and tobacco are more dangerous and kill more people than cannabis.

The gateway theory is complete BS! If pot was a legal drug, that argument would make no sense, because a lot of people try pills, alcohol, or tobacco before they try pot or any other drug.

I have more friends addicted to alcohol, tobacco, or video games (World or Warcraft) than any other substance. I think drug testing is a waste of money as well. It should be pretty obvious to a good manager that the employee is not getting the job done. Drugs or no drugs.

I don't smoke all the time, definitely not while I am racing or working, but I still like to show my support for my favorite plant. I think most of the people that look down on pot, just don't understand it or have a stereotype against it, so I am showing my support in a not so obvious way...

Almost all of the laws against pot came after the movie "Reefer Madness" aired in the 30's. It is one funny movie but people believed everything in it because they would not put it in the movies if it was not true. I believe you should have to take IQ test when you take the piss test. If you are stoned and stupid, you should be fired. If you are just stupid you should also be fired. And just to keep things in perspective, that job my wife had to go through so much test to get, filling vending machines, is in a massive Goodyear plant. They do not test the employees running the dangerous equipment because they have a strong union. The only ones that get tested are the contractors. Some of the dumbest people I know, have never seen drugs, that is why I am all for testing that shows what you are really made of.

I once worked for a company in the UK where the Boss was a suspected Coke user, the head salesman was definately a coke user and male stripper in his spare time, and another salesman was into making porn movies, and showing us his vids he made before he distributed them.

Funny enough Drug testing was never mentioned
