Where is prntrfxr? Check tomorrow. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I've got a female side of me - I just found out I'm a complete lesbian!' "But the salesman said . . ." The salesman's an asshole!'

I only met one female copier technician in 13 years working in the field. She was from another dealership, working on a different machine. She asked me if she could borrow a Phillips screwdriver...But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

I hate to say it but I have found 4 female "technicians" and they are either extremely good or hideously bad. 3 of the ones I have come across were great and could teach many people on this site how to fix a copier, myself included. But the last was incapable of finding the screwdriver let alone using it... By the way she had 12 years experience when I met her during my 2 year in this field.Last edited by Mr Spock; 10-05-2010, 05:12 AM.And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!Comment

Never yet met a female tech. I have always wondered why not as many women get into this job, I mean its not that labour intensive like some jobs that a woman isn't phsyically capable of. (that sounds really sexist, but I hope u all get what Im trying to say.) Best of luck in you're new position and dont give up!!I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~Thomas EdisonComment

I was given the thumbs up and trained by a female tech. A pretty good looking one at that.Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

A bunch of years back, we had on in my office, but she was let go because she refused to take any courses, along with the fact that she felt she had something to prove to "the guys" by refusing to interact with us when we were brainstorming repair issues. Offer her advice, I mean really useful advice that anyone can use, to help her out and you'd get attitude from her. She was a competent tech as I recall, but not a team player. Of course, we lost a great number of male techs who also had a similar attitude. We are set to lose a few more when the hiring freeze lifts. One guy in particular does not think it is part of his job to help a customer out by ordering toner for them when visiting the customer to fix another issue. Its not like he has to deliver it...just phone dispatch, give the site number and what toner they need. How hard is that? I can do that while filling out my paper work."Many years ago I chased a woman for almost two years, only to discover that her tastes were exactly like mine: we both were crazy about girls."

We have 3 at my shop. One who is certified on all the big machines and color boxes, one does cash registers and small printers, and my Manager worked as shop tech for about 15 years. I'm here Blackcat. bpretty21, nice to meet you.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".Comment
