Re: CALLING ALL McGYVER'S
Mr. Phrag, could you post a pic how the clips hangs of the tip of the needle nose pliers.
My favourite thing for quick repairs, both temporary and permanent is HOT GLUE STICK. Working time for this glue is fast and fairly strong.
our service coordinator has two classic model cars on top of his shelf cabinet. On monday mornings he comes in to find one or two of the wheels broken off as they topple to the ground. he would superglue and next week same thing. so he asked me to do something about it, and i came back in 10 minutes dropped it a couple of times on the floor and it is till solid today. the wonders of hot glue.
Covers of machines that comes in from the field often has the clips broken and what do you do. replace or jimmy. I take discarded covers cut the J hooks and attach them on to the broken covers. works good as new, and they are inside and customer cannot see the fix. sometimes you put a new cover only to discover it does not match the rest of the faded covers. hurrah for hot glue.
Who knows of the kyocera fs-1128 --1135 tray front bezel getting broken off . very poor design, but the entire tray has to be replaced at a rediculous price. Again hot glue with a piece cut off blank from main board options slot and when its done , stronger that the original.
I Like this thread topic as it displays the ingenious capability of normal folks.
