Delayed forum update when reading copytechnet from two different PC's

    G'day Sysop (Aneurysm ?)

I have two main log in PC's for copytechnet.

The first log in PC is at my work location and the second is a my home.
I have a problem when reading the copytechnet forum from my work PC.

The problem being is that the Forum messages/threads are up to a month behind when I read the same identical message from my home PC. I can do some proof screen shots from both my PC's if you like.

The situation arises that I don't know if people are replying to an updated thread or not. I don't know if the threads have been answered correctly by others etc. I have noticed that if I reply to the current last thread, messages will some times appear above the thread I have been reading as current.

Is there a cache or switch setting in the forum or webbrowser that allows the forum to update correctly every log in ?

Anybody else notice inconsistency in the forum ?

I had assumed that the "What's New" posts were based on the Mac address of the PC that you signed on with last.

Yes I've noticed that the "What's New" link provides different results based on which PC I'm using. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You probably want to delete the cache in your work PC browser. You might also want to check your work browser for any plugins that are supposed to speed up web pages you go to often. A lot of times these plugins will save a copy of an old page locally so that it appears to load faster.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

Yer have done most of that. I go out of my way to get rid of the web browser accelerators. They are an intrusion on my web browsing.

I loath the address bar auto fill in command. I type a simple URL into the address bar an the auto complete or auto search pastes an entirely different football field length URL into the address bar. Sh!t's me if I get a character wrong an this happens. I then have to retype the whole URL over again. I prefer the K.I.S.S method. I hope the web browser programmers read this and get the message.

          Check your cache settings....

          IE setting.JPG

The item I am pointing to may correct the problem. At least, this setting corrects a page refresh issue on KM Pagescope Light web pages when users want to edit one touch or authentication entries above 50. Without that setting, the page will not display any entries above the first 50, regardless of the pulldown menu selection.

I am not sure about Firefox, I cannot find a similar setting in that browser.

I use firefox on 3 computers and I only get the latest when I hit "whats new". Sometimes I even get nothing when I move from my pc to laptop or vice versa.

              Thanks for that...

Some one had turned the cache update setting to off.

It appears I was having cranium-benious-glutious-maximous problems.
In other words I had my head up my a$$ because I forgot to check that internet option setting first.
I have restored the setting and I will give it a test and check for delayed updates from now.

I think that this is tied to your login name for that feature. If I do not login, my browser shows everything as new (bold text) in any of the forums, but once logged in, posts I had already looked at are no longer in bold.

I usually login before looking at what is new... but they just be me.

Hmmmm....strange....works for me that way, even with a fresh install of the OS recently.
