Tea Parties are for little girls with imaginary friends.

Hell no. Most of the TEA Party gang pay all the freaking taxes.

That's why they started. Tired of paying taxes so others can sit on there ass and bitch.

Let's take a little look, shall we?

This is a map of the states political leaning over the past 18 years or so:

          political map.jpeg

This map shows (in red) states that receive more in taxes than they pay:

          tax map.png

Seems kinda obvious that the teabaggers are actually sucking off the federal teet more than they'd care to admit. Also, if you look at the number of college degrees, by state, guess which swaths of color fall below average?

Let's look at the divorce rate, by state, shall we?

How about entrepreneurial start-ups, by state? Why the country is hurting, that same stretch of red states doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot to pull themselves up by their bootstraps:

          entrpreneur-map.jpg

The tea party is about as grass-roots as astroturf.

Your statistics back up nothing. Your assumption that Tea Party = Republican is where your arguement hits a brick wall. The majority are Independent or Libertarian - they're pissed at both mainstream parties. I guess being right in the middle of the DC Metro area, where one either works for the government or is a parasite of our system, you can't see the forest because of all the damn trees.

            Here's some stats for you:
Be sure to read the "short civics lesson" after the cartoon.

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009 as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period: (below)

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

You hvae to understand that nothing....from the beginning of time itself...is the fault of anyone NOT George Bush or Dick Cheney.

              And by the way...Gallup numbers...

              Liberal 20%.....Conservative 40%.....Independent 35%.
It's the 35% who need bringing along. Liberals want to run the country and the world and they are 20% of it.

Setting aside the rhetoric, as teabaggers, what do you believe should be cut out of the current budget? What needs to be done to reign in costs and drive the economy in a forward direction?

great post! I hate the democrat's excuse for everything being "It's Bush's fault". This plainly shows that they are the ones to blame... kick them all out and let's start over!

How can you say Hemlock Surlock. the great detective to set aside the rhetoric and in the same sentance call people teabaggers. It's the tea party .

Now what can we cut. Plenty.

Harry Reid thinks we need to continue funding Cowboy poets in Nevada. Hows that for one. National Public Radio? Endownment for the Arts?

What the federal government needs to do is take care of our National Freeways, National parks, and defense.

Let the states take care of the other things.

Our founding fathers would be rolling over in there grave right about now.

I saw a quote the other day that I would like to share..........

" I feel so sad for the United States of America; She is like a very beautiful woman dying of cancer. "

This seems to be true, given today's problems: 90 % of them caused by the current regime.
                      "The Serenity Prayer" . . .
God grant me the serenity to accept stupid people , the courage to not waste my time and energy on them , and the wisdom to know that I cannot fix STUPID .

Let me ask this, what passes for entertainment in Mr. Bill's world? (smashing Gumby doesn't count)

I'm sure there was a large "Entertainment Fund" in the past 2 stimulus packages... Maybe they're still preparing for the entertainment to start... unless the performances the knuckle-draggers in DC are doing now is their big show...

It's not about entertainment. Funding artists is no different than funding business or students through tax credits or grants. Gov't uses incentives to spur start-ups, with the goal of building the economy and bettering the economic & social climate.
