Women Copier Techs Do They Exist???

I also know two female`s who works in Serbia, but, as many they dont want to get dirty. And now I still think that thay was much better from some serviceman`s that I meet...
I have a problem with women who dont like to get their hands dirty. No one likes it, but you're in the wrong line of work if you're trying to avoid it. I dont like people who whine either. Rant and rave if you must, but get it done. Dont whine and expect someone else to do it for you. If you ask nice most people are willing to help. if someone asks you for help be gracious and help them, because someday they might return the favor.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

I am a female. I originally worked on Bourg bookletmaking and finishing equipment. Now I've worked on some copiers, don't like Canon everything seems cramped and cheaply thought out. Do like working on Konica Minolta.

          girl techs

I think Remmie32 is correct in the mind set that woman have about technical stuff. I am always told by other women that there is no way they could work on technical things, like I do. I think women underestimate their abilities. We have as many problem solving skills as men do, we can just solve multiple problems at once. I am always encouraging the gals I meet to try new things and working on copiers is truly one of them.
I was always told that too. I have my mom to thank for this in a way. She was always one who called my dad crying when we had a flat tire cause she didnt know how to change it. She hated feeling helpless. So when my brother came in and told her he learned how to rotate his own tires, she told him, "good, now take your sister outside and teach her how to do it". My dad didnt understand, until my mom explained that she wanted me to be able to take care of myself. I came in all grins cause I could do something that girls arent supposed to do. After that dad taught me things too, like plumbing, how to install an outlet, switch, etc... I do like girl stuff, but I get a charge out of mechanical and electric stuff. When I go shopping with my friends they keep me away from anyplace that has power tools. They dont get it. Guys dont either. Only the people who are techs understand.

We should form our own club of Tech Chicks

So great to hear that I am not alone. So far most people I meet are very encouraging, some do seem intimidated, mostly men and some seem shocked and surprised, mostly women. I really enjoy fixing things and am very linear and logical in my thinking pattern which gives me capabilities that I just don't see in a lot of my girl-friends. I used to think people didn't fix things themselves, because they were lazy or knew they could get someone else, or didn't want to get dirty, but now I think they may not have the thought process to catch the vision of how to fix the problems. I try to explain a technical solution and watch their eyes glaze over.

We provide other dealers with great service on products they don't normally carry. Don't turn away that service call. We can service just about all make and models from most manufacturers. We have factory trained technicians, parts, maintenance kits etc.
We will do the service under your company while YOU work on upgrading the customer to the products that YOU carry.

I keep telling the service manager to employ some female techs as a bit of gender competition might make some of male techs pull their finger out!

Also you girls have one great advantage over us guys, a quick coat of nail polish save hours of scrubbing trying to get the toner out from under your finger nails
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

huh...you'd think so wouldn't you, but unfortunately working with tools and metal means you're fortunate to get them to grow to a decent length before breaking. I have to keep them short and clean or it would be horrible. I have callouses from rebuilding fusers and pick-up assemblies. There is no nail polish that can resist metal scratching them. I'm not paid as well as the guys so I cant afford to have them professionally done and I really dont have the time. I'm would be kind of suspicious about someone with perfect nails in our industry, unless she was in sales. Hope that doesnt ruin your fantasy/opinion of us.
