i worked on the whole NP line and a couple of 3050's Hard to believe anyone is still using that messy POS.

I remember about 6 or 7 years ago, maybe 2005, I think when I worked for a computer service company I had a work order to go down to this quilting business and set up their cable modem for their computer so they could use internet. I show up and they had a Packard Bell. I was shocked to see it was at least a Pentium MMX model so it had to have been the last that had ever been shoved out of that company. There was nothing I could do for them tho with that comp. But I sold them a sweet custom box. lol

Please don't get me started on customer computer networks!!!

And this underlines the need for salesmen to actually visit the site of install and NOT to do everything over the phone and email...

Installed an iR2525 Canon machine at a customer who were upgrading from a basic non networked iR2200 and were really looking forward to using the scan to email and folder options, we got the machine into the customer and switched on, did the green button test and then went to network it - this is where it went wrong!!! Looked around the area to see if there was a network point - none found! OK I thought just need a longer cable to the next room so went next door to look for a point. It was then that I saw the back of one of the workers computers...

The thing was using parallel cables and computer switches to print to an old ink-jet!!! Not a network cable, RJ45 connector - anything in sight!The whole set up was using tch out of the ark, the customer had no professional IT support and the bloke who did there computer maintenance last bothered to update his skills when the 286 processor was a new thing!

Needless to say they are not scanning!
