It 's so nice to be remembered.

One of my locations I have a copier in, also has 2 giant security level shredders that I had serviced about 3 years ago. Never had a copier problem in those years, so I thought by now they had turned in the shredders and got new ones by now, as it would be unusual to go that long with out service. Last time they had broke both machines in 24 hours, [ these are $9,000 beast ]. My self and the head tech aat the factory spent 3 horrible days trying to make these things run, until the factory guy mentioned a thermal relay in the motor that could not be changed, you had to buy a whole new motor, my cost $900, so I put on my "shade tree mechanics hat" and bypassed the relay to make them work. It was an interesting 3 days. At one point the room forgot I was there and apparently were discussing classified information openly, but I was too wrapped up in the shredder to notice. Another time, I arched a screwdriver across two hot points and blew myself out of the machine, yelling cuss words the whole time. I got a call saying one of them was down this week. I went to diaganose the machine and found most everyone remembered me...as the guy who electrocuted himself while yelling "OH FUCK!". Well it's nice to see I left an impression.

Yeah, techs are a dime a dozen... but a good screwdriver... now that's priceless.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

i get remembered at one of my customers for a similar reason...was working on the Biz C451 & i needed a bit more room...so i pushed against what was behind my to try & move the copier...next thing i knew i was falling backwards with the bookcase i was pushing against..it all happened in slow motion....luckily the girl whose desk all the books had landed on, had just got up to make herself a coffee...
