I think We call them Dispatchers. You have to work with them or they can make your life ****. Stay on their good side. I had a huge area and had to train three different dispatchers.

Just do good work ALWAYS and you won't have anything to worry about. Clean them and they will be nice to you. MAINTENANCE - NOT EMERGENCY calls.

Sometimes you just have to take one for the team and sleep with the dispatcher for the sake of the other techs. There is no one more irritable and vengeful than a sexually frustrated dispatcher...
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

              I married one of ours.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

I think we have the lowest paid group in the buisness, they can't spell, can't get a correct phone# in the system, can't seem to figure out that we don't carry toner with us (Emergency call for tech to bring toner!!! Love that one). Can't even ask the most rudimentary troubleshooting question ( did you check to see if it is plugged in). Can't explain why I have to bill them for network issues outside of a copier problem. The online service call program is even worse...customers just love to push 1 button...paper jam, same address, same contact, same phone number, 8-5 working hours...Tech...can't get through to call the customer, "Mary hasn't worked here for 2 years, sorry we closed at 3:30 today, and of course..."I thought you'd have toner with you". And as for sleeping with them...ughh...even I have standards, "8 to 80, blind, crippled, or crazy" Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

Sorry bout that, I could not resist. One of mine is wife of an Army Sergent Major, and just as mean as he is. I get yelled at a lot... just cause. A lot of it stems from me giving credit to the Army that she has to collect on.

Stupid question maybe. If they not hot, put a bag over your head just in case theirs comes off. ( benny hill joke)

So donk, whats your story or opinion on call controllers ? This area can be a real problem in this industry. Generally speaking IMO - they start out polite and helpful then turn into judgemental nazis and I,m not sure thats their role. If you have a nice one buy them gifts

If you get up every morning and go to work happy and come home at night with some sense of accomplishment. You probably have a good Dispatcher.

As far as sleeping with the Dispatcher? Really guys do you think they are really interested in someone with toner under their fingernails, dirty knees from fixing a drawer base, and who drives a mini van? Know way!! If they are interested they go for the Boss.
