here in nyc we're paying 3.20 per gallon. We should form a boycott for a day or 2. this is getting rediculous. Oil companies are making 3-10 billion dollars a quarter in profit.
I agree with bondo fox. The internet messages of boycotting a particular company or not gassing up on a day are ridiculous! Anybody that has any smarts does what anyone does when a company is making earnings, they INVEST in that company.
Boycott ideas are ridiculous and the oil companies have nothing to do with setting the price at the pump. It's called "Supply and Demand".
Here in my neck of western PA, It's floating between $2.999 and $3.099, with a few down the road from me going up to 20c above that.
supply and demand my ass! there is plenty of oil-just not enough refineries to refine it.
and
yes the oil companies do set the price. they know we will pay whatever it cost to put the crap in our cars. and they are getting filthy stinking rich from it.
what i can't figure out is back a few weeks ago when gas was over 3 dollars, a barrel of oil was 45 to 50 dollars. now a barrel of oil is over 80 dollars and the gas is cheaper now. almost a dollar a gallon cheaper. tell me again who's in charge of gas pricing??
