So, You think parking where you live is expensive?

Check this out. Pic taken then I tried to leave from a job at a hospital in my territory. At the rate of $15/day, apparently I was parked for three years, seven months and twenty days. Actually got out for free that day.

Yeah, I would have questioned that one also. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

That would have to be the most outragous parking bill I have ever seen. Surely people would carry that kind of change in their pockets these days. lmao

Got pissed at a local municipality that wouldn't validate my parking. "What? You want me to pay YOU to fix your machine???"

Then I realized you could walk by the entrance gate and push the button for another ticket just before driving out and get the "1st 30 minutes free" deal. Most of the newer ones have sensors to make sure a vehicle is there when the button is pressed, but this was a loooooong time ago.

One of my pet peeves is that most parking lots don't take credit cards, and yet want you to pay in advance.

Not always convenient when it costs between $10 and $14 each time.

While that totally makes sense for special events, it makes none for the daily workday.

These lot owners need to realize that it's not always convenient to carry cash, especially on technicians' wages and this whole "cashless society" thing.

I have noticed, though, in cities where parking is (quite) a bit more expensive (such as Pittsburgh, where it ranges between $20 and $30), almost all lots accept credit cards.

I can only imagine what parking costs in NYC, Chicago, LA, etc... Any big city techs out there care to chime in?

$7.50 to $10.00 for a day, in Detroit. With most of the city unemployed, I suppose they can't charge the full amount. =^..^=

Sure is! its now cheaper to catch a taxi from our office to see customers in the CBD then park up for 3 hours. The last time I parked in in the centre of Brizzie for half a day I thought I was being charged for a down deposit on buying a parking spot not just renting it.

Our company has given all the techs a Metered Parking Permit which allows you to park on a parking meter for the allocated ammount of time with out paying.

Mind you they are about $1000 - $2000 a year, but well worth it. If we park in a parking lot, then we have to pay out of our own pockets, but none of us do anymore because we have the permits.

Most of the guys who handle the hospitals in the area have company paid transponders. I go in a back those guys up when needed, so because of my intermittent presence there I don't get one. I have to expense my parking generally to the tune of $100 - $200 per month.

Another perk of not living in a big city. I have paid $1 total for parking in the past few years. That was because the lady who could validate my ticket was gone.

One of our salespeople asked me "Why would you pay for parking when there's free street parking?"

A week later he came back from Detroit with a broken window, and the laptop and iPhone stolen. "That's why. There's a car to come back to, and it's in one piece." =^..^=
