Exactly, and when you tell customers to pay a bit more for a laser and they'll be saving money in the long run, they don't believe it. They just go out and buy another ink jet.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!". -

And still there are customers who "Love" thier little destop squirter so much and are willing to pay the equivelent of new printer for it to be serviced because they have bought a job lot of spare inks (most likely cheap refills) on the ebay that they dont wont throw out???"See if you can rent a spring hook and a phillips screwdriver it will make your life that much easier..."Comment

Re: Interesting video: The Dirty Little Secret of Inkjet Printers
Back when the Canon B380 was sold, I did a ton of service calls on them. When the waste ink siphon tube wasn't clogging up, the waste ink reservoirs were filling.
The machines that ran the best were doing high volume printing (one to two ink cartridges a day). I don't miss them one bit. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Interesting video: The Dirty Little Secret of Inkjet Printers
I love it when they trudge their little Epson printers to our shop for pad replacement and they have turned the printer on it's side to fit between something on the back seat. It gives me a personal joy when they remove the printer only to find a pool of ink on their back seat that has wandered its way out of the printer.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".Comment

Re: Interesting video: The Dirty Little Secret of Inkjet Printers
Not really - Gold wasn't always so expensive, and printer ink wasn't always so... well, it's still not cheap, but used to be worse. You used to pay $40 for a cartridge that had only 5ml of ink in it. There's just shy of 30ml in an ounce - that's roughly $240/oz - I can remember when gold was that cheap - granted it was nearly the middle ages...73 DE W5SSJComment
