So why did they call a tech?
Cleaning service would be more appropriate...

I have never watched an entire episode of any of those shows, I'm just observant.

You wouldn't be a good tech if you were not observant and being part detective.

It should be fairly easy detecting who did it if you were called out the same day and the person wasn't sent home. Just look for black clothing hands, arms, face, and check the shoes. Laces will not come clean, neither would hose or pumps.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

They thought it was covered by their service agreement.

I am thinking they had light copies and took the bottle out like a printer and shook it.
I watch The First 48. No CSI needed, why did this happen not how.

I printed the picture out and have been asking people if they think their job is dirty.

                      Thanks for the post.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

I have watched a customer as they vacuumed up a large toner spill using a canister vacuum- as the lady ran the vacuum, everyone(including myself) in the office was yelling to her that the toner was flying out of the back of the vacuum- she could not hear anyone due to the roar of the vacuum cleaner- What a mess!!! Walls, ceiling, it was everywhere!!!!

                            Ditto that.

Mine was a Mita DC-2585 with the toner cartridge "brick". It was mostly symmetric, except for that little magnet that told the machine that the cartridge was installed correctly. My customer likes to install those cartridges backwards, and break off the corners. Since the machine saw no magnet, no toner had been added.

My customer thought: " ... hmmm. Maybe it just needs more toner."

After the fourth one, the toner was pouring out the right side air intake, into the bypass.

Then my customer thought: " ... hmmmm. We've got a couple of really good shop vacs on the shelf over in hardware. We can just vacuum it up."

As you can imagine it was less like vacuuming and more like redistribution. By the time I arrived the entire 25' x 25' office had a nice even gray haze. Out of curiosity I picked up a letter size page from the desk to find a perfect 8 1/2" x 11" clean spot. Even the ceiling was covered.

After three hours I had created a clean area of ~ 5' radius around the copier, changed the developer and foam roller, and removed a good dozen plastic toner cartridge corners.

They're response was: "What about the rest of the room?!" That's up to you. (By the way, this is the same machine that chewed off part of my right index finger. I was not too happy with it.) =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Reminds me of the old Sharp SF-730 toner bottles, plastic bottle with a screw off cap, had to pull unit out of the front of machine, flip open the top of the toner hopper and fill, well if the custumer did not check to be sure the cap was on tightly before they shook, they had a toner spray all over the office, copy room, where ever it was, seen it a couple times.
Not fun to clean up, and yes, charged for it.
