    interviews

well this week I was offered 3 interviews and went to 1.Turned 1 interview offer down as they wanted me on short notice (less than 24h)to drive 90 miles? yeah right any normal interview would take place locally as the job was local anyway plus trying to blag to your company where you are is quite a challenge. 2nd interview I went for was a management position. I didn't apply for it but I was asked to by the company interviewing me. Well, I can only say I was disappointed with what was on offer and the in-depth job description. Look after some engineers, tech specialist, pr to customers, reports on spend, fix rate etc, no supervisors and field based - so where do you get the time to do the paperwork if your field based? mmmmmm the more I thought about it the more I knew it wasn't for me. I come out of the interview thinking only 1 thing that they want a manager/supervisor on the cheap because I've never seen a job description that was half manager and half supervisor.

Thankfully im employed but what a waste of time and effort for nothing.

    Re: interviews

This is where naming and shaming certain companies would be so valuable. I know a tech who left to work for a dealer, then was back with us within a fortnight.

You see advertisements promising the world but delivering the Black Death, rolled in nails, covered in shit and served in a hot dog bun. It's kinda stunning that places like this still exist. Fair enough, people want to make money but why do it at the expense of a person who is wanting to progress their career? It's taking advantage of someone in one of the worst ways possible.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

      Sorry to hear it.

Ikon offered just such a job and called it "Team Leader". No additional pay. Increase responsibility by 1/2. Still do a full load of service calls plus supervise. Do you see any bright points in this promotion? Me either. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I had to stop at 24 minutes. Is it really possible that that many people were born totally devoid of common sense? Or did they just lose it somewhere along the way? =^..^=
