    Note to self....

    Note to self...

1 Make drawing of wiring before taking apart high security shredder. Hooking up the beer can sized capacitor backwards makes the lights dim in the office and customers say ugly things about you while looking at black computer screens.

You just improved it is all....rather than have to actually make a document to print out and then later shred...you just improved it where they don't even have to make the document now....

It's the all in one machine, prints and shreds in one operation. I seem to remember a post I made awhile back about this new office machine.

Ouch! Not such a good day. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Taking 3 to 5 photos before I tear down has saved my ass more than trying to draw timing belt routing.
Having all my service and Op manuals in my hand without having to back to the truck, or beg to use a workstation has been the biggest help.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Never volunteer, however casually, that you were trained on a machine (or piece of software) when it has been 6 years since you've seen the product.

You'll barely remember what you saw back then, the product will have been totally redesigned (at least twice), and you will be expected to be the know-everything guru on the stupid thing.

                  Haha,

Just happened to me a couple of days ago, got sent to a Ricoh FT3813 analogue, couldn't even remember how to get the fuser out. Wasn't ever trained on these things, I started in the industry when the 1035/2035 was Ricoh's main midrange b/w box, just been sent to them in the past when I was the only available screwdriver toting chump in a 50 mile radius.

Customer was not happy that OEM parts are no longer available from Ricoh, does anyone know if Katun or Precision Roller still do compatables for these? Not that I actually want to fix this heap of crap, (I put a lead straight in to sales after extolling the scanning/printing/faxing/colour abilities to this customer of almost anything digital) just idle curiosity.

Pay attention and double check your work when an attractive woman strikes up a conversation when you are doing a PM. Developer for a Bizhub 500 will only work in the Bizhub 600 for a couple hours tops. About the time it would take for 600 toner to start mixing in the box real well.

I've known some copiers that would have made pretty good shredders. Now, if we could only make the shredder you have print and copy, we could sell it as a copier that perforates your pages automatically for you.
