But trying in vain to get this back to the original thread I can reccommend Skynets little program as very worthwhile and very easy to use!!!
Many thanks I am glad you like it, today i received 2reps and two likes for that post. Its nice to receive rep for stuff that is actually related to the work we do rather than wiping ones arse twenty four times on one sheet of paper.

    its all good though.

I would think being able to wipe your arse 24 times on one sheet of paper would be something you'd have to work at. I'm sure if you made an instructional video it would add to your reputation, though not sure if it would be positive or negative.

This is one of the best ( if not the absolute BEST ) !

The search engine has helped me find solutions to things I wasn't looking for, so I can't complain.
It is a little like the "Zen navigation" from the book "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency".

Perhaps the search engine is psycic!

It doesn't tell you what you want to know but rather what you need to know!

That has something to do with it, I'm sure.
It also would help if I knew what I was looking for -
We had just started working on HP printers and MFDs a couple of years ago. I am mostly a Lanier (Ricoh) tech, but I have some knowledge in some of the older, smaller HPs as they used the same chassis that Canon used in the later Canofile and microfilm printer units. But the newer stuff was sufficiently different that I wasn't sure where to go next, and it turned out amongst the varied and sundry search results was the exact answer I was looking for.

If you think CTN's search engine is bad, you have obviously never tried to search anything on HP's ITC forum. To search effectively on this forum, make sure you are logged in. It will not let you get out the gate if you haven't logged in. Also, sometimes google works better. But it is way, way, better than HP's forum search engine.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".
