What machine was the best running?

The best running machine I ever worked on was the Konica 5370.
Analog machine, but with a good 6 hour PM I could get these machines to run 250K without a service call.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Only doing a limited range of Ricoh machines at the moment, but the best in my opinion that I work on is the MP5500/6500/7500. The MP9000/1100/1350s are pretty damn good too but they lose out because they are just unbelievably time consuming to work on because of their sheer vastness.

If an MP7500 is put in the correct environment, fed with decent paper and operated by users who know how to operate the machine correctly I've seen them go from 300k PM to PM without a service call.

....but.........in the wrong environment they can be a nightmare. For instance one machine I know of is a central copier/scanner/printer for a number of hospital departments. Due to mind numbingly petty penny pinching reasons each department has to procure it's own paper and each user has to bring paper along to the machine to copy/print with (including the tech....like I've got spare room in my already packed car for several boxes of paper to test every machine I go to.....idiots! Give me paper or I leave and charge for the callout.)

As for an MP9000/1100/1350. If a user isn't trained to use one of these beasts then they shouldn't be let anywhere near one. Luckily sheer cost means that these are reserved for central print/repro departments and a damn good thing too.

MP 7500 one and half years old. 4.500.000 copies, only problem toner recycle, some feed stations the rest is PM. full day working duplex mode with punch. (three hour PM from paper feed to finisher exit)
        4 and 1/2 stars.

Let me guess, the toner recycle gears on the diagonal pipe on the front of the drum unit are jumping and backing up the main PCU recycle coil.

Had this a fair few times now!!! Hehe but it's an easy fault to fix.

At that copy count though the registration mylars start to get problematic.

Had to change the LCT and relay guide plates in the registration section of a 1075 today on 3000k, what a pain in the arse!!! Especially as it was in the middle of a busy clinic waiting room and I had no real space to work. You should have seen the wear on these things when I took them out, one had worn into a sharkstooth pattern.
