Which copier do you love very much and like to work with?

    We have the topic:
Which copier was the biggest piece of crap ever?

But can we make topic for most loving machines?
Like best color machine, cheapest and low problem machine / workmachine?
    Also best b/w machines please.

Of course the parts must not expensive and it's easy to fix.
I like also machines which is easy to reset, easy refilling toner (thus no expensive official toner) thus less chipped machines are more fun.
And... don't forget the networking/printing software for Windows 7/8 or latest MacOSX today. If you cannot find driver for it, then printer is less popular. (Actually Windows XP is not big pain...)

You can make this topic great! All comments are welcome with love!

There are best copier posts too, probably several.

But any chance to sing the praises of Kyocera 3530-5050 I am happy to do so.

I plan on posting a side by side video of replacing feed wheels on Kyocera and Konica with a little timer. One timer will stop at 45 seconds, the other maybe 25 minutes, should make for good comedy

Sure I'll chime in. FalconI, FalconII, FalconIII ... the whole series. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Canon IRC5185. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Apart from the cost of a new fuser they are a good machine with good quality copies and prints, but I wouls have to say my all time fave is the iRC 2880 range of machines. They are cheaper to run and with the right set up the quality can be the same as a 5185.

Yes I agree about the fuser, if money was no object and I didn't have to take it apart (which I didn't when I worked for Canon!) As far as the IRC2880/3380 machines, they work fine as long as they are in a SMALL office, most of the ones I had to service were overused and would fall apart and spew toner, and they can get some nasty error codes when subjected to abuse.

They all make you pull your hair out occasionally, but, believe it or not I kinda liked the minolta EP6001. Clamshell was not great but overall, machine ran well. And the Di520 was a pretty good machine.

How far do you want to go back? The Mita DC-313Z was also a clamshell, and rated for 30K on the developer, but frequently went anywhere from 50K to 100K. The Arsenic TriSelenide drums lasted well. I spent most of my first year working on these exclusively. =^..^=

And I thought I was one of the old guys here...

I remember the older guys talking about these machines when I was just starting out as a tech. I never actually worked on one, though. I heard you had to replace the power source boards on these every time there was a power outage.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

That actually applied to a lot of different Mita machines once they reached a certain age. 213RE, 313Z, 152z, 1655, 142re. If I could avoid it, I never shut the machine off or unplugged it. We had a real conundrum with the DC-152z/DC-1655/DC-1755. When the hinge pins wore out, the front and rear frames began to cut through the pins, and the clamshell wouldn't close properly. Results in jams, and skew. The cure was to drill out the frames, to insert oil impregnated bronze bushings. So here's the conundrum: Do you risk turning off and unplugging the machine, or do you risk steel shavings landing on a live power supply? Neither is a great choice. I usually left it up to the customer. =^..^=

Like blackcat4866, I also was wondering how far back you wanted to go. Because, as long as the machine wasn't owned by a raving lunatic, the 3M M516 was a freaking tank. It was a re-branded Toshiba analog machine if I remember correctly, and it was an example of how a clamshell machine could be really easy to work on throughout its service life. And, other than having kind of unique optics that needed to be kept clean, the ones I saw back in the day needed very little else besides normal PMs. Which, as long as you had the auto toner tool or a plastic tweaker that could be filed square, was also really easy.

I love the old big Ricoh machines
1085,2105 etc...bigger machines are much simpler put together
No stupid little thingys cramped in small space
