I didn't miss television programming at all from 1975 to 1988. My wife is enthusiastic about her television programs. For me it's mostly background noise.
I believe that if you let it, the television will suck out your brain through you eyeballs, leaving you a muttering moron. =^..^=
Well I commend you for doing the 13 year stretch before the great interwebs made every TV show available online - that's the only reason why I haven't had a TV or cable. My computer can do everything a video game console and a TV can combined!
I can't say I disagree with that statement though... But I suppose like anything else, as long as the viewer is selective of what they watch (not a slave to "reality" TV and horrible talk shows eg. Springer or Jersey Shore) then that harm would be pretty manageable.

Debs has always been with us, only that she is a woman of few words; she thinks things through before she talks, and only when necessary. True to her profession, she is a woman of ACTION.....very practical in all aspect of the word!
