I know some parts of the world are behind us timewise, but that's ridiculous, here in the UK it's 2nd OCTOBER now

You think that's bad? Yesterday I walked out at 7:50 AM to start the car to a brisk, but still refreshing 7 degree celsius weather (44.6 for our Yankee friends). This morning it was 0 (32; Yanks), my windshield was frosted over and I could see my breath clear as day. Winter has fallen upon me, woe is me!

I'm just hoping the snow doesn't stick around for 8 months as it did this past year.

            That would be me
It should be illegal to sell anything Christmas related before December, I still can't believe you went back there a few days later and bought decorations LOL

I hate it too; but ; Hey ... One stop shopping .

Here in the USA, you can get Halloween , Thanksgiving , and Christmas decorations at the same time.

Saves a couple of trips to the stores.

Ain't retail stores just grand ?

I'd just like to update, it started snowing briefly just before lunch. Has since stopped... It's too damn early for snow.

I remember snow. It's that white stuff isn't it?

Christmas used to be a fun winter holiday. now it is the basis for the whole American economy. Two shopping days, day after Thanksgiving and day after Christmas are when most of the shopping money is spent for the year. Seems like a messed up way to base your economic system. I don't buy gifts anymore, I give my wife and kids money. And after they get theirs, there is a whole dollar out of that fiver left for me!

                  Happy Holidays.

What IS snow? I don't know snow. Just scorching heat and boiling rain.

Hey. Around here I think it was a couple of weeks ago that I saw them in eithee a Lowes or a Home Depot.

And I think Hallloween candy started showing up right after Labor Day. Or was it just before?

I used to work in a retail chain called Big W in Australia, and the planning for Christmas would start in September. I used to work on the receiving dock. The first boxes of decorations would mark the avalanche of toys to come in the coming weeks.

On the dock, space was at a premium. If you needed to get at a pallet amongst a heap of other it becomes a game. You know the puzzle that required you to move pieces 1 by 1 utilizing the one free spot you had to complete the picture? That's what it was like.

And directly after Christmas, the Back to School sale was on. Then Easter almost immediately after.

Secondary update. Still snowing; cold enough to keep the snow on the ground today and a light dusting on the car. Halloween is going to suck eggs this year. I'll have to check out the local Wally World and see what kind of decor they're presently offering up. They like to stock well in advance because of all the reservations nearby, people will come in when they can and buy what they want/need.
