    WooHoo! My 10,000th Post

I just made my 10,000th post this morning. Now I realize that 99% of my posts are my sales pitch, but every once in a while I do have some good input on printer repair. When I did work in the field I was only an ole printer guy. I thought that when I got into the manuals thing, I would be able to learn copier repair. Well I've been selling manuals for 12 years and I don't know a thing about copiers. When I go to my Dr's office I'm always asking to look at their copier because I never see one in the 'flesh'
I wish to thank all of my friends and customer's on this site for their support. About every 3-4 months as you all know, somebody comes down on me (usually a newby) for my posts and I am humbled by the responses my friends give to these clowns. When I first started advertising here, I used to give out answers to error codes but then I realized I was spending far too much time here and it wasn't in my best interest to give out this info. Now they get my sales pitch instead. By the way.......I have an MS keyboard that has 18 programmable function keys on it so I just hit the S1 key and out comes the sales pitch. I just adjust the italics and color on it and I'm all set.
My programmer just installed a new chat thingy on my site and I'm working to try to figure out how it works. (No docs.) The other day, I had a guy in chat from Egypt. He was looking for a cd player service manual which I did have. So after wasting 20 minutes with this guy he tells me he doesn't want to pay for it and I should give it to him for free. I could feel the steam emanating from my ears I was so pissed. But I have to be polite to everyone. Sometimes it's tough. As most of you know I do have somewhat of an attitude problem. It's gotten better now that I'm getting older but I do take 2 anti-depressants. My happy pills. Out of all the drugs I've ever taken, the anti-depressants are by far the best. (Except for maybe pot). But I've been cutting down on that lately as business has taken a downturn. I just re-started my Google adwords again and I'm hoping that business picks up. It's tough making a living at $12.77 a pop. I do sell some firmware here and there but depending who and how I get it, it can be a big sale for me. I sell it for generally $65.00 and I throw in the service manual.
Speaking of firmware...........We have to stop calling it frimware or frimwar. I have a function on my site where I can monitor who is on the site and what their searching for. I see guys in the advanced search page searching for FRIMWARE. Sheesh! I now have a link on my main page telling folks to contact me for firmware. I don't keep it on the site.
Well I could babble away for hours but I'll close up now. Again..........I wish to thank my friends and customer's on this site for their support and purchases. I do give out manuals sometime to folks that actually help other people and who are my friends. It feels good to do it. And of course I'll always offer a free manual to a non-profit or church folks. (Even though I'm not a Christian)

    Best Regards to all,

    Paul

How's that carpal tunnel doing from all that right thumb clicking? 10,000 posts is truly impressive. I'm not that far away myself.

When I first started here at Copytechnet, I only answered threads that I was absolutely positive of the answer. Since then I've come to realize that educated guesses and surmises can be useful. Sometimes just discussion with another tech can elucidate, helping an idea to blossom. It surprises me how often members here just want a canned answer, and aren't willing to have a conversation. They don't want to rouse the few remaining brain cells, or think of what's actually happening.

So if I answer your thread and pose a bunch of silly questions, maybe the answer to those questions would help you on the road to an answer. I've come to know that I don't have all the answers, but can get to any answer with effort and the help of our members.

Thanks for your contributions here, Paul. You are appreciated by some of us. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

            Todays trivia :
A right thumb keyboard click, or carpal tunnel.

In human-to-dogs years one human year a canine ages seven years.
In computer-to-human years, the interval between pressing a key on the keyboard an releasing it
            the computer waited seven years.
Just think how many times you can post if you could press the keys faster.....

            Congratulations on your milestone Paul...

Congrats Paul! A landmark achievement for sure!
You've been both helpful and generous to me in the past.
I wish you all the best in your persuit of 20K!

I'd offer you a manual as a sort of reward, but You probably already have it

I agree completely with you on this Cat!
I try to be as thorough as I can in the description of an issue, but It's often the questions I'm asked about it, that get me travelling down the road to a solution.
                  well stated!

Thanks for your service Paul. I know that in times where I found myself doing an odd repair as a favor on something I had never seen before, you have been there and helped with a free manual. Thanks again, I love this site.

Congratulations Paul. Like a lot of other people here, you saved me from looking like an idiot thanks to a manual a back in January. The newbies will cry about your posts, but I'd rather know you're there and not need a manual than need a manual and not know you're there.

Congrats Paul, as the others have said you have been there to stop us lot looking stupid

Dread to think how many mice you've been through on your way - not just the 10k clicks to post but to logon, find the thread, reply to thread, easily getting onto 40k for that lot, and here's to 50k more.
