    The Google Tabloid

Have you ever clicked "images only" in the google search engine and typed in your own name as a search?

Now that google is allowed to use your name and pictures without your consent.

I would place the google search results up there with bad tabloid press and images. I'm amazed at how many pictures of rubbish have my full name on them..... I'm even on facebook an I don't have a facebook account... Not one image showed a true picture of me.

Try your family names as well...

    Fun to see the results....

I wonder how many employers do this type of search for employee profiles before hiring ?.... wheeew....

Even though I really like my android toy's and the Google search engine, Ever since I first saw the Google clown car with the robot like thing on the roof taking pic's and video of everything and everyone I decided that there was a limit. Now there is way too much Google in the world, and Google seems to be on a quest to take over everything...Can you say Skynet??????????????????????

Where did you think the street level views on Google Earth, Google Maps, Zillow.com, etc came from?

                  SKYNET!!!!....
There is possibly another generation of children 20 years before their generation understands the true meaning of skynet. The cashless society will need to be fully established world wide first.
The technology already exits to counter any methods of the skynet senerio in any case. There is more risk of social paranioa bringing social unrest which is the reason skynet scenarios could be implemented more quickly. The human spirit is unending, it can mould itself into any environment an bring about the result it finds it's self facing. In other words we have a free choice to make our own heaven or hell on earth.

The final goal of a "skynet scenerio" is to control the free thought of the human spirit and thus the physical environment that spirit creates around it'self. Yes skynet aka electronic god if you will. The end result of the "Skynet scenario" will be more closely aligned to the "Matrix scenario". But that is probably 100 years away. You still have free will for now, which road will your spirit choose?

                    Oh for pete's sake -
The historical records show that Skynet will first show it's presence in the United States. As you are effectively on the opposite side of Earth from here, if that actually happens you should have enough time to say "Yikes, sucks to be them!" and then "Guess we should just drain the fuel from these machines and wreck them as they ineffectively flail about."
On the other hand, if that happens in a very different way, I guess you might go "Mad Max". As long as it has nothing to do with Thunderdome - the music sucked.

                      .............

I luv how the threads on CTN digress....
Given a worst case scenerio like "Mad-Max" I don't believe we will be relying on dinosaur-p!ss ( oil ) or dinosaur-poop(coal) to keep us going. There is plenty of alternative energy systems out there.
During WWII we have hydrogen pipe throughout our city that feed the city for years. The same pipes feed natural gas now.

The hydrgen was cracked from water with a hot flame charcoal process. The hydrogen plant run by itself, as it had hydrogen motors to run the pumps for pressurizing the city supply.

I don't see what the problem is. If David Brown from Shitterton , Dorset, England posts a picture to Facebook or whatever of himself, he is placing that information there of his own free will. If a search engine finds him is it the search engines fault or his?

Or am I missing the point?

I agree with you, I googled myself, most of the results weren't of me, but I have posted loads of pics to Facebook, and I am tagged in them, I anyone wants to google my pictures then they are free to do so, but I do wonder about their sanity if that's how they want to spend their time

There is good and bad points in everything.
I have never placed an image of myself on the "idi-net", not ever. When I did a google image search I discovered plenty of images, some I found a tad inappropriate, with my full name on them. My full name is not that popular when used in a search engine.

Am I to believe that someones grand daughter is dealing in child pornography because her name is on a photo placed there by google?
Am I to believe that someones grand son is dealing in drugs because their full name is on a google image ?
Am I to beleive that a google image showing a person kissing and cuddling a goat is someones idea of entertainment?

I cannot speak for the people who have images on the net already, but I feel we should all make a protest at how some of those images are being portrayed at present.

If there is an image of myself on the "idi-net" it certainly wasn't placed there with my consent, thats all I can say.

I believe I myself should have a choice as to how my own name an copyright image is being portrayed or taken/blown out of context and thereby creating a false personal profile on public display....

Lets face it, people in general just love reading/viewing tabloid crap and feel complete when some ones elses is being put down.

I attribute my internet anonymity to the fact that there is a very famous astronomer that has the exact same name as mine. Of the hundreds of thousands of Google entries all go to:
                              1) the famous astronomer
                              2) the famous orthopedic surgeon in Chicago

There are others numbering less than 5 entries each, and none seem to find me, even out to page 25.

Now, blackcat4866 seems to be more well known, as it ought to be. I was astonished to find my moniker attached to web pages in Arabic, Portuguese, Chinese, and Russian. My guess is that these websites scavenge information from Copytechnet and indiscriminately re-post it. The giveaway is the little bit of ASCII art I affix at the end of each post. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
