That goes great with a nice cold PBR, but if you're looking for really good store bought mac n cheese, try Stouffers. I would throw out my Mamas home cooked mac n cheese ( 4 boys so she had a lot of years to get it right) right in front of her and ignore her poor tears of heartbreak for a big bowl of that delicious food of the gods. Outback is my number one choice for restaurant mac n cheese, but since my kids are slightly embarrassed to eat off of the kids menu anymore (21/18) I can't steal it from them anymore. Emujo

The trick with that unit is after you drain the pasta you need to add the actual cheese of your liking while you are adding the cheese colored powder that comes with that kit.
Sorry, I may have been in the Reserves long enough that my palette isn't terribly responsive.

HEY. C rats were good compared to MREs as long as you didn't get stuck with the ham & God Damnits, ham and lima beans.

My mom used to boil the mac, then take Velveeta cheese, cut it into small chunks, mix together, small amount of milk, put in pot and stir until it all comes together. Velveeta is very soft and made to melt. It will be very creamy. If you like , you can then put it in the oven and bake a crust on top.

Also I am very sorry to hear you have lived your life without it. Maybe that is what is wrong with the world, no comfort food like mac and cheese.

You're right about that. It was weird that "Front Towards Enemy" was printed on one side of the dehydrated pork and beef patties in the first version MREs. Although that was a long time ago, I might be mistaken.

Ate a good bit of home cooking(not necessary home made) growing up. Grandma used to make mac n cheese out of the box(Kraft preferred), then added a little bit of milk and butter, sharp shredded chedder(in and on top) and baked it all in the oven in a dish. SUPER DAH LISH US!
