    Change of employers

Ok I've been offered my old job back at my old company. Had a message asking if I was interested in coming back. I have an easy life where I'm at but its never felt right and I don't trust the management.

If if I go back the company knows I'm going to be leaving within a year 2 years max as I've set up my own business and there still ok with it.

any thoughts excluding the wages on this.

Go for it, sounds like you have your 'bases' covered.

Congratulations! It sounds like you've got things well in hand. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Sounds to me like you feel you would be more comfortable going back to your old employer. I say go for it.

If one may ask, why did you leave 1st employer?

Well I'm speaking to my old manager this week to discuss what's on offer and the finer details. I'll be honest it's easy at the moment but I've have serious doubts at where I am.

Only you can answer that one hun, remember, you did leave there once before, if it was just because you thought the grass would be greener, then go back. However, if you were seriously unhappy before, then you're unlikely to be any happier this time round.
Good luck with whatever you decide, and remember, you can always vent any unhappiness with me, always happy to hear that brummie accent on the other end of a phone

                  Re: Change of employers

                  Just adding my 2c worth!

First of all you have to do what you feel is best for you as being happy in your work is as important as what you get paid to do it.

Secondly you said you have your own business, be very careful as there are a lot of contracts out there that state anything you discover, invent or do can be claimed by the company you work for, wether or not it is related to the companies business. It would be very easy to get tied up in all sorts of legal problems if they decide you have something they want! I'm not saying they will or they are that sort of company but make sure you have that covered in any contract you sign.

Thirdly as others have said you have to ask yourself why did you leave in the first place and what has changed to make things different this time? It is easy for people to say that things are different and will be different, but us humans are creatures of habit and it is very easy to slip back into those habits if nothing else but for convenience.

I think this just turned into 25c worth, talk about inflation!

                  Either way best of luck.

I won't go into why I left but I had to for personal reasons and I left on good terms and I had been there for 9 years.

The business is a care home so there's nothing to link me with any company I've had dealings with.

I have a reservation about it but I'll speak to debs as she is all seeing all knowledgeable wise woman even though she says I have a funny accent when I don't lol chas & dave 😉

Since you're not bringing up pay, it seems as though that's not an issue. From what you've said, you are not at the job you want to be at. Things don't feel right and you're suspicious of management, but you have an easier time there. I believe it is better to be at a job you are comfortable in making less that being at a job you don't like making more. I have even done it. I left a job where I didn't like the management for a job that paid 75 cents an hour less. I felt more at ease and less stressed at this new job even though I was working more.

                            Re: Change of employers

I was in serious doubt about a company I worked for. There were layoffs and rumors of more coming. I started looking and got an offer... but it was a very slight pay cut.

                            I turned it down.

The offering company was cool, the manager said, because they actually had someone come back from another location, and I would have made them over-staffed... but if I had accepted, they still would have taken me.

Two days later I got a call from HR. My company had bought out another company and my services were no longer needed.

                            Life sucks, then you die.

This is so true, I was quite happily plodding along until recently, then something, that was really pretty minor, made me want to hand in my notice. I didn't jump ship as I don't believe I would be any happier going to another company, I am just sick and tired of fixing copiers and all the stress that goes with it, my dream of leaving copiers behind me and owning my own campsite will not be a reality any time soon, so I'll keep on getting toner under my fingernails for the time being.

If you feel relaxed as soon as you made a decision, then that decision was the correct one for you, good luck with it, and, of course, with your business when it starts, I know you've worked hard towards that goal
