I've learnt that one a couple of times as a junior tech. When it comes to explaining photocopier operations to a teacher the law is --
"DO NOT teach the teacher, they don't like it, especially the headmaster/principle in front of his staff."

I have this theory about advanced education. When you pack your brain with advanced education it has a way of driving out the common sense that you were born with. The more education, the least common sense. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I was working on the copier in a teacher workroom awhile back when one of them said, " We've decided that this copier is male because it's always broke and won't work". I told her " We tried to get you female copiers but the maintenance was way too high"

              They thought it was hilarious.

A wile ago I was working on a copier on a school, a teacher came up to me and asked how to make those booklets. No problem, I've created a program for her to get her booklet running easy peasy. She was so thrilled she said "I am so happey that I could kiss you"... "Bring it on" I replied, and she did

We used to call them Trade-ins. They traded-in their common sense for a degree.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?
