    Hello all

    Hello everyone,

After a good while of lurking around i figured id finally register.
Im not a technician, i am copier operator and i find these forums a great asset.

Im operating two Barons 8110s Pro's for two years now and eventhough there isnt much to read up on these machines specifically i keep on learning from the various posts. (unless i missed a subforum)

Silly question perhaps but is it allowed for a non-technician to ask for advice on these boards ? (no worries, wont be of the - i have a paper jam, what do i do ? variety)
I am quite fond to work with these machines, always been kind of a tech nut.

    Keep on keeping on !

Glad to have you join us. Do you have the TCRU kits? TCRU = Trained Customer Replacement Units. They allow you to do most preventive maintenance on your own.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Afraid i havent, i have asked my employer and the technicians that visit me often for some formal training.
Seems i am not eligible for this although i would prefer it, simple things like torque and roller replacements i would love to handle myself again.
On my old Taurus machines i got the thumbs up from the technicians to do most of the basic things myself.
(would save me time during the busy times - which is all year round with maybe a few weeks breathing room)

On some of our larger print shops we stocked certain customers with primary charge units, feed rollers, rebuilt fuser units. With just a little training, it reduces down time considerably. It's an individual thing. Certain operators can be entrusted with more complicated replacements. =^..^=
