    Well read newb, but uneducated

Ex contractor, became disabled, now my own tech but have been searching for a real one.
In my search I have found help wanted ads for techs and see that i cant afford one. I doubt I'll be much help to anyone, but hope to learn. Thank you, PT

      Welcome PT. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Glad to have you join us.

A good tech is one that given a service manual and a parts source can fix just about anything.

Thanks All. I will be searching past topics, mostly Ricoh, as that is supposed to be my top dog.

                Ya forgot one thing:

                A source for proprietary software!

(I guess maybe we can call that a 'part'???)

                    Understood.

Who is discussing piracy? I made the observation that one needs access to (proprietary) software. Not that you should pirate it. Not that I want someone to violate the law.

(Isnt a 'service manual' considered proprietary? I didnt mention that.)

Anyway, got off on the wrong foot it seems.....moving on...
