    New in Indiana

    Hello all,

    I am new to the copier tech industry. I started on this journey around February of this year. My company only deals with Konica Minolta, so I am eager to learn all that I can. I will be leaning heavily on non classroom training, as my boss is an "old school" tech. He started with type writers and has seen almost all of it. Thanks in advance for the help I'm sure to recieve.

      Welcome aboard and learn as much as you can from your boss. They are rare nowadays so you can feel sort of chosen.

          You probably won't get to work on typewriters. I have seen one in years. =^..^=
          If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              Glad to have you join us.

              If your boss ia an authorized KM dealer, they should have self-paced online courses for a lot of their smaller entry level models.

                  Yeah, I have done some of the online courses. I have completed outward associate, and am working on outward professional right now. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can, as this isn't just a job for me anymore, now it's a career. They brought me on to take over for him when he retires (he's 68 now) so that will mostly likely be in a few years.

                  One thing that I have noticed about Konica Minolta recently is that out of the last 10 machines we ordered brand new, about 6 of them had issues coming out of box that either we needed to fix or order parts for. Has anyone else had this problem?
