Hello everyone! I'm a pc tech looking to start doing copier/printer repair. I need direction on which way to proceed. There are no copiers or printer to repair where I work....just laptops and desktops. I'm more interested in certification training. Seems to be almost no training programs out there in this field. All advise welcome.
Looking to do something new...

Wow, I've never seen it done that way. Usually it's the other way around. Guys get started in copier/printer repair and move up to IT/computer work. The only way to get certification training is to start working for a dealer and have them train you (or send you in for training). As far as I know you can't get any kind of certification without an authorized dealer being involved. At least not for any copier manufacturers that I've ever heard of. Basically, you have to get the job first, then the training. Although depending on what dealership you end up working for, you may not get any kind of legitimate training at all. Not to discourage you or anything, but why would you want to get into this industry? Most of the copier technicians I know (if not all) desperately want to get out.But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

Being a copier technician is different than a lot of other professions. You have to have some native mechanical skills and spacial analysis skills. The electronics and IT skills can be learned, but I think the spacial analysis is just something you have or you don't have.
Most good techs have an insatiable curiosity, just have to know how & why things work.
If this sounds like you, then maybe this is the right career for you. Does that help you at all? =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
