    thanks for this site!

I have been able to use this site as a resource for many projects and I thank all the contributors. I am fighting with a Ricoh 7001 with staple and duplex options that doesn't seem to want to work depending on the application it wants to print from. I have had some success but it's hit and miss. thanks for being available.

    Welcome! =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Anytime!! One thing I had to do with an old (dos program I think it was) was create a new printer (they had a ton when I was done) and call it duplex printer (printing to the same printer) but I set it so every copy would always duplex by default, and staple printer, and tray 3 printer... and so on. I think you get the idea? So when they openned there app all they would do is pick what they wanted to do (via the printer icon) and it would do that.

Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

that's awesome RRodgers! I think that's a great idea but not everyone here needs duplex printing or wants it; but my problem is with sending mail merge documents to this printer and having it staple each 3 page (duplex) set individually. I have seen the macros but they don't seem to work exactly right. I have tried them with sending them to a new document but the amount of pages is ridiculous and it doesn't seem to separate them correctly. (1st page duplex, 2nd page is not because it's only 3 pages, so it tries to print the next record on the back of the 3rd page! or, makes multiple copies of the same record, i think once) and I know this is probably more a Word issue than a printer issue, the printer is just doing what it's told! sort of. Ralph I think that the problem is not the printer so much, but maybe. It had to have the stapler replaced recently, for no good reason it just stopped working, so I guess that would be a complaint for a survey.
