Canon C3200 would not recognize ADF. Is any setting I am missing?

Canon IR3200.. Customer bought a new ADF, wanted to remove the old platen cover. However, new ADF is not recognized by the copier. Is any setting I may be missing? Help please.

How do you know that it is not being recognized?
Did you go into service mode and verify that you do not have a FEEDER selection now?
If you are placing documents in the feed tray and the green light is not coming on to feed the documents you are probably missing the mylar that covers the openings where your platent cover arms went into the copier. Without the mylars covering those openings your open/close switch will not tell the machine that you have DADF closed and you are ready to use it.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

Thanks for your reply... I do not know what settings need to be turned on in the service mode to have the copier recognize that an ADF has been added to the copier, otherwise ADF is new and when moved to an older c3200, it works fine there. Please help..

        Solved by myself.....

When I replaced platen cover with a ADF, I needed to open the plastic cover under the ADF Screws (next to glass towards the back of copier), then open the metal cover in the middle and connect a purple connector, which is just sitting there and not connected to anything, to the main board under the metal box. Now my ADF is recognized by the copier. Fixed the mylar to have the black sensor recgnize ADF is down. Also, I needed to buy and replace paper guide at the right end of the glass. This paper guide has curved edges, which turns the paper and feeds to the exit of ADF unit.
