All in the trade, what is the best product you have found to clean rubber rollers and pad. found alcohol is not good as it dries out the rubber. also what is the best product for removing glue residues when labels are removed from machines. I work in a shop, rebuilding and refurbishing copiers and printers.

Re: copier, printer rubber cleaning.
For rubber I use De-Solv-It Orange-Sol: Orange Sol 10151 De-Solv-It Contractors' Solvent | BIC Superstore
It's safe on all surfaces. Just don't use it at full strength three consecutive times on plastic covers. Eventually it will start to attack the plastic.
On rubber, I've heard good things about WD40, but rubber or metal only. It attacks all plastics instantly. For me, it's not worth damaging nearby plastic.
For adhesive the orange-sol also works well, but I've got something special for drums. On drums use Lamp Oil from your local hardware store:
Liquid Paraffin Lamp Oil & Accessories by Aura Creations
It doesn't damage any drum surface that I'm aware of. The only risk is scrubbing too hard, so don't scrub too hard. Let the chemicals do the work, and use a nice soft Webril:
Webril Handi-pads 4x4 Bag

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

Re: copier, printer rubber cleaning.
Thsnk you sir. I live in Toronto and have not seen the rubber cleaning product you mentioned. i will do some research to find how i can get it here. one more question. what do you use for removing dried out ball point ink from the machines. fresh ink comes out easy with alcohol, but dry ink is very stubborn.
thanks again for your input it is appreciatedTHE ONLY THING FOR EVIL TO TRIUMPH IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING..........edmund burkeComment
