Hi everyone,
I just want to introduce myself, My name is Sluggo ( a derivative of my last name) and a loooongg time member of the technician for life club.
I actually have owed my own copier business for 33 years now, which dates me back to the days when it was a "miracle" that copies could be made on plain paper.Ive sold thousands of copiers over the years fixed many many more. I have zinc oxide poisoning in my blood and so all this time but would probably would rather be a tech than a salesman, boss, cheerleader and the guy who hauls out the garbage when no one else does.
I ve got 3 kids working in the business, I don't know if that will be a curse or a blessing, at least they are still working.
Ive had 15 employees at a time, had my building where my business is wiped out overnight from a natural disaster and fought with the EPA, US Government, insurance companies ,banks among other bigger and more powerful than I .
My customers have been Doctors , Lawyers Indian Chiefs and Police Departments, and many of the people they TRY to put out of business.
How many techs can brag that they have an autographed picture of John Gotti courtesy of his roommate and multiple hit killer, who happened to be married to the nicest little nursery school owner/lady here in our town! I got the picture for doing her a favor in networking her new copier shipped thru the Marion State Correctional Instute where he was residing.
I am trained on most copiers begining with the Sharp 710 up thru the newest Sharp color copiers and well as many Canon , Minolta, Ricoh, Kyocera Mita etc etc, and I mean certified by the manufacture with a diploma and everything. Who remembers the Eskafot 620? Yup, trained on that POS.
Anyhow, a fool knows everything and I am far far from knowing it all. What I like about this business is that I learn something new every day and I mean brand new stuff.
And the cute girl sitting next to the copier can keep it interesting too.......
