    New to the field.

Hello all, just wanted to take a moment to say hello. I am just beginning to break into the career field, I'm enjoying it so far. Currently I'm under the apprenticeship of our shops senior tech while awaiting Ricoh classes and instruction, though I have begun and finished a lot of the online courses and material.

So, I hope soon I'll be able to contribute to the mass amount of knowledge that can be found here. Until then, thank you in advance for sharing any advice.

        Welcome! =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Awesome, thanks everyone for the warm greeting! To be honest I was a bit hesitant to post, being new and all, I did not wish to "look stupid" so I elected to just read and watch the forums until a friendly nudge from the admins reminded me that "hey, you better post or get deleted" lol. Makes sense, as I'm sure no one really enjoys a leech!

I look forward to collaborating with you all. Here's to the best!

MFP technology is a moving target. The more you know, the more that knowledge goes obsolete. The hallmark of an amazing tech is a person that can walk in and work on something they know almost nothing about, and don't get flustered or distracted.

I used to think that it was fun to show off my skills by throwing out solutions during the discovery phase. In retrospect, that's just a great way to demonstrate my stupidity. Better: hold your solutions until the end, when you've confirmed your theory, and taken a few minutes to organize your thoughts in a logical way.

Take it from me, that you'll get plenty of opportunities to look stupid, so you might as well find a way to smile and enjoy it. =^..^=

Great to have you. One thing about this type work, just when you think you have seen it all you get a problem that can truly humble you.
