Re: Updates & New WYSIWYG editor
There a few things that I don't like about it. First, there is no cursor, and I cannot click back areas that I've already typed in. Also I cannot add extra returns. If you re-edit the post these things can be done. You cannot cut/paste text within the window. Sorry, I like the old text editor better. Like "Word" it has a mind of its own. If you want to do something wthin it's formatting limits, it's wonderful. If you try to do anything else, you just can't. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Updates & New WYSIWYG editor
It appears that I can paste text from outside the editor window, but cannot copy or cut text from within the window. An I can only paste to the end of the line of text.
This editor would be great for someone who thinks in an organized way, and can get everything down correctly the first time. That's not me. I have to edit several times before the thoughts start appearing coherent.
Did you change something? My problems I was complaining about have vanished. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Re: Updates & New WYSIWYG editor
Hi! I like the new text editor, but it's really annoying that you can't see the cursor and can't click back to change something.. I've noticed someone else complained about this problem - I use Windows 7, 32 bit and the latest version of Mozilla Firefox.I don't help end-users. Hate me, give me bad reputation, I don't give a rat's a**. Pay a tehnician to solve your problem! We have to live too! What do you do when something hurts? Do you go to a doctor, or do you search it on google/ forums?Comment

Re: Updates & New WYSIWYG editor
I didn't notice it until you pointed it out but your right, that is the way is was a few versions ago if I remember correctly. The regular Reply is at the upper and lower left of the pages (where it has always been). I think the theory is that when you reply you are replying the the entire thread but when you Reply with quote you are replying the the specifically quoted items in a particular post. I'm not saying that it's better or worse like that but it's just my theory. It does not effect us too much here because everyone is defaulted to a "linear" thread view but if you use the old school "threaded view" it throws off the order of the posts, see the picture below for what the threaded view looks like.

I didn't say that bothers me, just comment
(Didn't see it on upper and lower left of the pages)
Good work

Re: Updates & New WYSIWYG editor
My home PC and work laptop are both WinXP Professional 32-bit. I don't know which version of Firefox at work, but at home I had to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.18, because it was conflicting with the login procedures of another forum.
As a work-around, I have found that if I type a few characters, then click Preview, I get full edit-ability again, and can finish my post without aggravation. Thanks for taking it seriously. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Re: Updates & New WYSIWYG editor
Nope, we are committed to the new stuff. The old editor had issues with some newer browsers and it was limited in respect to the newer browser technology that is being developed. This is the first intergration of this editor and future updates will add even more features and functionality. It will also come in handy with some of the blogging and content management options within our software that we haven't rolled out yet. (Are there any industry related bloggers out there looking for a home?)
Someone's got to take you seriously around here (just kidding). I hate doing major updates like this but hopefully everything works out in the end. We are paying pretty good money for the software packages and hosting packages we currently have and we just want to make sure we are getting the most bang for our buck while keeping it fresh and engaging for our customers (the users). If you want to see what life looks like without updates you can take a trip back to the early 1990's over at Smarka or the copier network.
Thanks for the input, keep it coming.

Just noticed the Arcade is disabled. Doesn't bother me really, just thought I'd point it out in case you hadn't noticed.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~Thomas EdisonComment
