Why cant we edit posts made even just yesterday?

I post on other forums with v bulletin software.

Why is it that we cant edit posts here? Cant even edit a post I made yesterday. Other forums I can edit posts made many years ago.

I don't know, but that's just the way it is. After 24 hours it becomes un-editable.

Spammers will often post several times, then go back and insert links for their websites later on. I think the idea is to discourage that.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That pretty much covers it. Also, new users to this site generally find us through our high ranking in the various search engines, If we allowed users to delete content at any whim it would end up costing us (slightly) in the search ranking. If there is something you need deleted you can use the report post button and ask. Generally we will make the deletion but it is up to us. Do not ask us to delete all of your posts, we probably wouldn't do that.

        Thanks for asking.
