    Unresponsive site

    Hello,

Just a quick question to ask if anyone else is having problems accessing the site, I keep getting time out errors from IE and Firefox on different computers even the Android app.

Tried the usual on all of them of clearing the cache and logging out and back in again but nothing seems to work so can only conclude the problem is at the hosting side.

    Thanks,

Not me. All is fine here with Firefox and the Safari browser on my phone. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks Blackcat, everything on the server is running well, I will check some logs tonight and follow-up if necessary.

I don't know how much this will help, but when a website doesn't work properly for me I find it a useful first step:
Is It Down Right Now? Website Down or Not?

BTW, we do a nightly backup at about 1:30am New York time. The site usually gets a little slow and sometimes unresponsive for about 5-10 minutes at that time. We chose that time of day because that is when our traffic is lightest.

              Hi all,

Many thanks for checking but I am starting to think it is account specific, I am not having any problems with other web sites I use and the android app is now telling me I don't have access to post or comes back with a message saying "unexpected server response".

I also wouldn't think it was the back ups as I try to access throughout the day, all very weird.

                Hello,

Just wondered if there was any updates as I'm still having problems but only with CTN, both browsers and mobile app.

                Thanks,

No problems here in England on Virgin media.

Is the android app using your router for access or its own connection?

Now I know why the site is sometimes a bit slow in the morning. I often visit the site just before I leave for work at around 7.30 (Netherlands time). The rest of the day it's no problem.

                      Ok here is the setup:

At home - Desktop PC hardwired to broadband router by Cat5e cable - as I create my own website I have IE, Firefox and Safari on there. All three have problems giving time out errors, access denied or server busy errors. Other websites work fine with no problems

At work - Desktop PC hardwired to company network again by Cat5e cable, I use either IE or Firefox, again same problems, again other websites no problems

On mobile - Wifi or 3G connection depending on customer location and what is available - Android app - again giving time out or access denied errors. If I use the phones web browser I get time out errors but have yet to see an access error. Other mobile sites are fine with no problems.

The fact it is happening on multiple PC's and my phone and that the problem only happens with CTN and no where else give me the impression the problem is at the CTN side, the fact that others have reported no problems leads me to further think the problem is account specific. As to what it is I do not know as I haven't done anything that anyone else doesn't do

Additional - I don't know why I didn't try this earlier but when I am not logged into the site I can browse around it fine with no problems so I think the problem must be with my account somewhere.

Why don't you just sign up again under a different login. If it's better, delete the original login. =^..^=

Check with the administrator of this site, he might be able to reset your account to defaults.

                            Hello,

Sorry to bump an old thread but I have been out of the loop for a while work wise and haven't had a chance to get back on this.

I have created a new login (Mjarbarv2.0) and would like to know if my rep and post count can be swapped over from my old login (Mjarbar) to the new identity? It took a while to get the rep and wouldn't like to see it go by the wayside.

                            Many thanks.
