I was hired in Jan 1971 for the launch of the 4000 machine. So far, I have been trained on 72 copiers/printers both Xerox and other brands. I am 76 years old and still work at copiers/printers, and laptops to service machines.

Damn...you beat me. I thought I was the oldest fart in the business. I am now 70 years old. I stated in September 1968 with Xerox. And yes, I remember the 4000. Still have my weird first service manual. I became a Product Tech specialist on the model for our branch. I had to replace a lot of "A" transport bearings in the early days of that model. Oil hose leaks were a mess! I was the first one trained in our branch, and the only one on our team.

Well been a while since I've checked in. And just to add my time I've been doing this since 1972, and finally RETIRED! Yes no more goofy weird calls and "Can I make a copy?" while the machine is in a hundred pieces. I did find some part time work to keep me busy. Nothing concerning office equipment though. Have fun you guys. I jumped in when there was a notice of a reply to the thread.
