How much is an hour technical service of copiers in the United States??
Re: How much is an hour technical service of copiers in the United States??
Depending on the company...
In Australia charges range from $90 to $135 per hour.
There is usually a one off callout fee which allows for travel cost.
The call out fee stops silly nuisance calls like paper jambs or change toner.
Callout fee varies, any where from $60 to $100.
A time and materials bill might look something like:
------------------------------------
Callout $75.00
Labour 2hr @ $90 = $180
Part xxx $10.00
Part yyy $10.00
Part zzz $10.00
Total Parts = $30.00
---------------------- Total ------
$285.00

The official shop rate, I am on the east coast, mid Atlantic, is$70. I charge $80. I used to charge $120 for shredders and $250 for wide format but the shop cut my profit sharing so now everything is $80, I really don't give a shit about profits anymore.

One of the good things about working for a small company like mine is the company still paying me when the calls are slim. If I am working for myself, I am not getting paid for online training. I wish I were paid more but at the same time I am grateful to have the job I have. I see a lot of people with crap jobs making less than I do.

The amount you make doing this varies depending on the company you work for and the part of the country you live in. For example, in a major US city, you could make 3 times what I make, but because of the cost of living, you may live a more poor lifestyle.

In my opinion, someone with your experience should expect 35-40k starting salary.
Also look for good benefits. Make sure you know what the company is offering ahead of time. With our relativity low salary field, benefits are often the most valuable difference between employment opportunities.
