A request from a friend in Florida to place machines in Arizona

I have worked with this person for a number of years. He works the government contracting
    angle.
He came across a bid for 5 machines that would be similar to the BH458e model. They have to be
    brand new.
He has asked me if I know a company that would sell him 5 new machines. As usual with a government
bid there are more details but first I need to find a dealer willing to sell the machines at a price
where as we both make some money. I may be doing the install but am not familiar with how to
set up the features and the network stuff.

These machines would be placed in a Tucson Veterans facility of some kind.

    Thanks

Not sure a dealer would do that unless another Kon/Min dealer would be servicing them. They could lose their dealership. I had a dealer I worked close with but they sold out to Canon otherwise I would of helped you out. Believe me any dealer would love to sell 5 machines, even at a little over wholesale. It helps me their quota plus they get incentives from kon/min at end of year.

I've seen where you can buy them new online but the prices are close to retail.

    I'll ask around.

Yes, I've heard that and don't blame them. I have purchased new 6002 Ricoh from a distributor.
They can only sell to the end user.
This client is not interested in a service agreement. They want to use the manufactures warranty with an option
to extend that warranty. Seems odd to me.
But Thank you for checking around. My friend needs to make this decision no later than Wednesday 8/28.
I know it's not much time but that's what it is.

Shame he couldn't talk them into 5 off lease "LOW meter" machines. Could prob get them faster C558 or C658 with options for half of what they are going to pay for new C458's. He would save the customer thousands and make himself thousands!

I agree, but when dealing with the government, that could be a shot in the foot.
It's better to be as close to the specs as possible. They want the warranty. No service contract.
Which I think is odd for the government. They usually want the service at a below market price.
That's why I don't deal with governments. To much red tape.

Oh yea, forgot he did mention it was Gov.

And it's funny they will prob pay with credit card. I had a Gov office and they always paid with credit card. Like $1500 repairs, etc.
