They all work great. Here's a list of some of the Kyocera carts that you're looking for. See below.

      Re: Compatible Toner

This is gonna take a few weeks to accomplish but I want to see the results. I've ordered toner from the top players in the toner market. These are all for the 3551ci. In no particular order:

      1. Genuine Kyocera toner.
      2. Static Control
      3. Katun
      4. Tomoegawa

The reason it's gonna take a while is that I have to run the cartridges until they are empty by printing a 5% coverage page for page yield. I'll also be printing test charts to check for quality. Also, checking the amount of waste toner generated.

There's one interesting thing about the
Tomoegawa toner: They make bottles of developer for Kyocera that must be added to the toner. Never seen that before.

I'll post the results when completed. I'll do a side by side with Kyocera Genuine Toner.

PS - Will aslo test on different types of paper for proper fusing.

There are a number of high volume and production Ricoh color machines that actually have a small amount of developer in their toner. It helps to maintain the developer and push the PM period higher. As a result you can not use toner as a lubricant powder when replacing the drums.

The Kyocera 3551ci has a small amount of DV in the toner. I've never seen the developer come in a separate bottle like the Tomoegawa brand. I think it's 35 grams of developer to 450 grams of toner.

Do you actually think a 3551ci is still under warranty?

Under President Biden's "America First" initiative the Federal will give preference in it's procurement activities to products manufactured in the USA.

                This includes toner products.

For 25 years, Toshiba manufacturers most of its toners for the America's in Mitchell, South Dakota employing over 100 people.

I am sure other copier manufacturers, printer manufacturers and print cartridge rebuilders can claim the same.

I've sold remanufactured cartridges' to both state and federal agencies and many will only use reman carts because of global warming. That was under the Obama administration. This was on printers, not copiers that were under contract.

All federal agencies had the option of ordering OEM's under GSA pricing but many only ordered remans.

The point is that Obama pushed federal agencies to go green. Nevermind.

... I am sure certified, empty toner cartridge recycling programs will be a key consideration under President Biden's climate change directives.

All US Federal gov't decisions including procurement will give consideration to environmental concerns.

The fact is that all plastic toner cartridge have been recyclable for years. The problem is finding a recycle location that will take them. Most that do only take in large quantities.

You're right about cartridges have been recycled for many years. But there are huge recycling companies that you can find online that will pay you good money for used carts that are on their list and they pay for shipping. I remember selling some empties and getting as much as $20 for each cart.

Edit: I called them recycling companies but they are really cartridge brokers.

                              One quick note:

We used to supply all the toner carts for Stennis Space Center (NASA). At one time they built the rocket boosters for the Space Shuttle. This place is huge. It's literally a small city. We collected all their empties. At the time I had a business partner and he owned about 90 mini-warehouses. In 6 of the the 90 we crammed empties in from floor to ceiling. And these were 10x20 bays. I got so sick of dealing with empties.
